Mr. Robert Ide is a senior Human Resources Executive with more than 25 years of broad-based management experience across five continents. An expert in providing local organizational assessments for start-up initiatives, delivering proactive functional support, and serving as a hands-on operational business partner with line organizations. Mr. Ide possesses a comprehensive knowledge of HR infrastructures required for global businesses, reputable business acumen, and the ability to create an environment that best supports the company’s mission and vision.
Mr. Ide’s early career history includes senior positions at Picturetel, Inc., Wang Computers, and Exxon Research and Engineering supporting organizations across the world. As International Human Resource Director / Global Human Resource Manager, Mr. Ide directed all human resource functions for more than 3,000 employees across 12 countries. He was recruited as the European Human Resources Director for Sybase, Inc. in 1995, charged with supporting 1,100 employees in ten countries that generated $260 million in annual revenue. Mr. Ide was instrumental in integrating two significantly large sized companies into Sybase, which resulted in one seamless organization.
In 1999, Mr. Ide was recruited as Managing Principal/Global Human Resources Director for an emerging financial service consulting firm, The Capital Markets Company (Capco). His responsibilities encompassed attracting, retaining and motivating all Capco employees on a global level. His achievements included expanding Capco’s resources from 40 to 700 employees, opening five country locations (Germany, France, Belgium, UK and USA) in a single year, and implementing a competitive remuneration program for all locations. This position entailed managing a 20-person human resources staff located in Antwerp, Germany, London and New York.
In 2001, Mr. Ide began his consultant practice as the Vice President of Human Resources for w-Technologies, a wireless software applications firm. He established presence for w-Technologies throughout Europe and Asia/Pacific and grew the firm’s population by 80% in five months. Currently, Mr. Ide directs operations for Global Human Capital & Associates, with offices in both London, England, Boston, Massachusetts and Manhattan, New York. With an impressive client portfolio, including Fischer Scientific International, the Boston Consulting Group, and several start-up enterprises, Mr. Ide continues to provide strategic direction expertise that positions human resource infrastructures for future growth and profitability.
Mr. Ide is a British native and was educated in the United Kingdom, as well as attended Boston University and the Cambridge Business School. His multi-cultural diversity is strengthened with fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He currently resides in Massachusetts and can often be found spearheading bicycle excursions through Canada, the United Kingdom, and the U.S.
